Associate is an entry-level position at North Head.

An associate supports multiple account teams and should have an understanding of the Public Affairs industry and general marketplace. Associates perform fundamental tasks such as issue monitoring, research, and organization of information relevant to clients. They also help in the production of media-related materials, management of client documents, and arrangement of logistics for PR activities. Associates will develop the necessary skillset for becoming a successful PR practitioner. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Client & Media-related tasks

Manage client supplies, publications, and resources

Prepare client meeting reports and participate in client meetings and presentations

Demonstrate knowledge of and familiarity with media pitching and tour scheduling

Understand clients’ target media and be able to identify trade and business editors and analysts

Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments

Prepare media materials and assist in production of printed materials

Conduct media outreach and follow-up

Contribute to program planning and account management by researching budgets, attending brainstorming sessions, and managing purchase orders, as directed by supervisor(s)


Draft pitch letters, abstracts, profiles, press kit materials, and releases

Proof and edit client-related documents

Compose basic media plans and contribute to plan development processes

Administrative Support

Manage monthly client billing process

Track and enter time with precision and on a day-to-day basis

Cross-reference, approve, and forward invoices to the Accounting Department

Assist in monthly report preparation

Perform other administrative tasks as assigned


Bachelor’s degree and above with majors in international relations, politics, journalism, Chinese, English literature, marketing, etc.

1-3 years of full-time professional experience related to PR agencies

Strong oral and written communication skills both in English and Chinese 

Team building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and gain the confidence of other professionals both internally and externally

Demonstrated potential to lead projects, interact with clients, and complete challenging projects within set parameters

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Internet research, and online services
